About George Beckman

Over the past two decades, George Beckman has created hundreds of unique kinetic sculptures. That body of work now enhances institutions and private residences worldwide. Themes of flight, music, and freedom radiate from his mirror-finished stainless steel pieces. They captivate the viewer, whether in motion or at rest.
The Vision
Many years ago, as a young Air Force fighter pilot, I became obsessed with flying aerial acrobatics in jet airplanes. I then discovered that every maneuver that I intended to fly existed first as an image in my mind. Years later, when my flying days were over, I began sculpting those old mental images and smoke trails. The material that I chose to form into dazzling completed work of art.

Over the years, my work has evolved. today's efforts are more complex, abstract, and of course, they are all kinetic. Yet with all of this artistic evolution, today's work has not lost its roots. My current work still radiates the same soaring grace and freedom of my early pieces, but in recent years, music increasingly has become a dominant theme.       read more ...
